Customers Concept: (T.Green) All designs start with an idea. In most cases customers have a photo or a drawing of what they want to make. Before a Cad design can start we need a) Ring Size-- this is one of the most important items to get right the first time, because not all designs can be easily sized once made. In some cases if the size is to far out a whole new cad design is required at added cost. b) Size and Type of Center Stone - most rings are designed around the center stone, measurements of this stone must be as accurate as its measurements affects all others. c) Size, type and location of side stones. d) approximate idea of what the ring is to look like. We need a top, front and side view with approximate measurements. The more and accurate information of what you want makes it easier and fast to reproduce an accurate Cad design required to produce an printable STL file.
Once we have all the clients information we try to reproduce their ideas in CAD. Sometimes small changes are required to accommidate the actual sizes of the stones requested to by used in the ring. We sent to the client a rendering of how the finished ring will look. Once approval is given to the CAD design the finish design is sent for wax printing on a 3D printer and than to casting.
The rough casting is tumble polished and cleaned. It is sent to the setter to set the different stones. t Once all the stone are set the final polish is put on the ring. The ring is now checked and ready for shipment to the client.
